Attorney Journey | Regina Vasquez
Monday Oct 12, 2020
Monday Oct 12, 2020
From Regina Vasquez: "I have been practicing exclusively in bankruptcy law since November 2011. I have designed my firm to be dedicated to assisting people in their time of financial need. I am also a counselor for my clients to guide them through a very stressful time. Filing for bankruptcy can be a very emotional decision, my job is to ease the stress and take the burden off of my clients. I attended St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas and graduated in 2007. While there I worked for the House of Representatives. This gave me an inside look in the legislative process and I still use those skills in reviewing the Bankruptcy Code today. I attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law and graduated, with honors, in 2011. During my time there I was a law clerk with Hewlett Packard. My last clerkship was with Mr. David Peake, who is a standing Chapter 13 trustee in our district. It was my time at Mr. Peake’s office that made me want to assist good hardworking people going through a difficult time. My goal with my law firm is to give every case the attention it deserves. This is why I limit the number of cases I take in. I want every client to feel relief that their case being handled with the most attention we can give." What inspired the vision for your two books?
In the first book, you write about the Faithful Realist and the second book the Humble Idealist. Talk about the shift in focus.
Snippets From The Humble Idealist:
No one can go back and make a brand new start, but anyone can start now and have a brand new end.
Disappointed idealists aren't cowards as some may think; they are reeling from the pain of being unable to reconcile their reality with their idealistic expectations.
We can confuse expectations and faith. Whereas faith is actively trusting God, and leaving the outcome and our happiness in his hands, expectations are just mental creations.
The opposite of expectation is acceptance. While expectations are based in the imaginary, acceptance is grounded in reality.
Regardless of what an idealist imagines - we cannot be truly happy until we accept life on life's terms.
What has been the most rewarding about writing these first two books?
What unique challenges have appeared related to these two books?
